Double PassThick Grass Plan

Pay for one pass. Second pass free.

We go over your yard twice and you pay for one pass.

What you get

  • Core aeration, 2 passesWe go over your whole yard twice.
  • We flag sprinkler heads and dog fence linesWe do it before we start, so nothing gets hit.
  • A before photo and a screwdriver photoYou see where your soil started.
  • Riley texts you the day beforeYou know when we're coming.
  • You don't need to be homeLeave the gate unlocked and the dog inside.

Why two passes

Two passes make twice the holes. More air and water get down to the roots. That's how you get thick grass next spring.

Your price

We price by the size of your grass. The minimum is $150. See your price in 20 seconds.

Room for 30 yards. Last day to get on the list is Sunday 10/18. We aerate the week of 10/20.

Double PassThick Grass Plan

Full for this fall. Get on the spring list.

We aerate again in the spring. Text us and we'll put you first in line.

Try it in your yard

Grab a screwdriver. Push it in.

  1. Wait for a day after rain, or water a spot first. The test needs damp ground.
  2. Push a long screwdriver straight down with one steady hand. Don't lean on it.
  3. See how far it went. Try 3 spots: the front, the back, and where people walk.

If it stops at 2 or 3 inches, the soil is packed and needs aeration. If it goes in easy, that's good. Aerating once a year keeps it that way. It's a quick check, not a lab test. If you'd rather we do it, ask for a Free Soil Check. Want an estimate? Do the Soil Check. A crew member does it when we're on your street, and we text you the photos.

What you get

Fertilized, aerated and overseeded every year.

  • Core aerationA machine pulls small plugs of dirt out of the lawn. Water, air and food can reach the roots again.
  • OverseedingNew grass seed goes down right after, so it lands in the holes and fills thin spots.
  • Fertilizer at the right timeOhio State says fall is the most important time to feed grass here. We plan yours around that.
  • A photo from your own yardThe Free Soil Check shows you how packed your soil is before you pay for anything.
  • Five checks before we driveSame as every visit. See the 5 checks

Thick grass

When it happens in Ohio.

  1. Spring (April and May)A light feeding as the grass wakes up. Aeration works in spring too, if it can't wait.
  2. Early fall (late August and September)The best time to aerate and overseed. The ground is warm, nights are cool, and new grass has time to root before winter.
  3. Late fall (November)One more feeding before the cold. The roots store it and the lawn greens up faster in spring.

Most yards around here sit on clay. Clay packs down hard, so we aerate every fall.

Five checks before we drive.

Our lawn looks great this season. Harrison has been doing a great job cutting our grass. They are reliable and very punctual. Edging looks good. Overall we are very happy with the service and would recommend them highly. Definitely want them taking care of our lawn in the future too.

When is the best time to aerate a lawn in Ohio?

Early fall, from late August through September. Grass 'n' Gardens aerates and overseeds lawns in Richfield then, because new seed has time to root before winter. Spring is second best.

What is the Free Soil Check?

Text us your address. When a crew is on your street that week, they push a screwdriver into your lawn in 3 spots and text you the photos next to a 6-inch mark. It takes about 5 minutes and you don't have to be home. If it goes in easy, that's good. Aerating once a year keeps it that way. Get a Free Soil Check

Does aeration leave a mess?

It leaves small plugs of dirt on the lawn. They break down on their own after a few mows and a little rain. We blow them off your drive and walks before we leave.

Do I have to be home?

No. Just tell us about any sprinkler heads or buried lines so we can mark them first.

Can aeration and fertilizer go on my yearly plan?

Yes. It all goes on one plan for the whole year.

How much does aeration cost?

It depends on how big your lawn is. Send us your address and Harrison texts you the price today. Get my yard plan

Want yourswritten out?

I'll walk your yard and write out your whole year. Takes 20 minutes and you don't have to be home. You get it in a day and it's yours to keep, even if you stay with the guy you have now.
