Soil Check

Grab a screwdriver and push it into your lawn. We'll tell you what it means.

Last round of aeration this year. We aerate the week of 10/20. The second pass is free. You pay for one pass and we go over your yard twice. Room for 30 yards. Last day to get on the list is Sunday 10/18.

Push a screwdriver Into your lawn.

30-second video The screwdriver test video goes here.
The screwdriver test in 30 seconds

Push it straight down with steady pressure. Don't force it. Damp soil, like a day after rain, works best.

  1. Pick a spot in the front yard.
  2. Push the screwdriver down with one steady hand.
  3. See how far it went in.

If it won't go in 6 inches, your soil is packed and the roots can't get water or air. That's what aeration fixes. If it goes in easy, aerating once a year keeps it that way.
